About Us
Opus Performing Arts Community have been the resident drama group at the Hopgood Theatre (formerly Noarlunga College Theatre) since February 2002 when Hon. John Hill officially launched the company. Since then Opus has maintained a high standard of production and has won several highly regarded awards. These include the ‘Theatre Association of South Australia’s musiCAL Award’, ‘Adelaide Critics Circle Award’, ‘Messenger Press Light Year Award’ and the ‘Hills Drama Festival Award’. Opus was originally formed to enable opportunities for people in the southern suburbs to participate in high quality theatrical events and to support the staff at the theatre. We still achieve this aim today, but now we reach theatre lovers from all over the state. Opus produces a regular season of shows, including the annual Children’s Production, Musical, and Drama/Comedy.
